The Committee

The club committee for 2007-8 is as below. Pictures are provided above names and positions, and are intended to aid identification of committee members at the rink.

We will be adding short biogs of each committee member as they become available.

Chairwoman: Karen Bicknell

Vice-chairwoman: Helen Wilks (replaced Wendy Fishel as from 13 July 2007).

Secretary: Janet Marsh (Synchro teams manager). Janet has always loved to watch skating and has gradually become more knowledgeable about the sport since her daughter Gemma started competing at the age of seven. She travels from Freshwater, and because of the distance ends up spending many hours at the rink while Gemma is training. Janet is joint manager of the synchro teams.

Treasurer: Sarah Danzig (Synchro teams manager).

Carol Taverner (Adults & Ice Dance)

Sián-Marie Edkins (Under 18s): Sián has been back and forth to the rink for 15 years. Sián became seriously ill at 13, and it was a big question as to whether she could continue skating, but gut determination made her carry on. She is back competing again, but not at serious as she used to be. Sián enjoys her Artistic programs and can often make the crowd cry with her elegance! Sián is there to talk to if any under 18s have any issues they wish to put forth to the Committee.
